LEUCOJUM ( summer snowflake)

Leucojum(Summer Snowflake). A magnificent bulb with heads of five or more nodding bell-shaped white flowers with green tips.It is related to snowdrops but has 6 evenly sized petals rather than 3 long outer ones and 3 short inner ones. Each petal has a green tip. It has long strap shaped leaves. Leucojum are suitable for the back of a sunny border or they weill grow among deciduous trees and shrubs. they are particularly effective near water but the bulbs must not become waterlogged. Height 70cm The dormant bulbs are planted in the autumn 6" deep and 4" apart. they are summer dormant.
