IRIS- MISCELLANEOUS
The black or mourning widow iris, iris tuberosa, has amazing green and black flowers. It has unusual tubers rather than bulbs and will spread to form large patches under trees.
The colourful Pacific coast iris are rhizomatous iris originating in the woodlands of California. They prefer an acid soil in part shade and are excellent ground cover for rhododendrons.
Bulbous iris are planted as dormant bulbs in the autumn, 4" deep and 4" apart. They are summer dormant.
The bearded iris are sunlovers and come in various heights.

IRIS 'GORING BUTTERFLY'
This stunning iris is a cross between a Pacific Coast iris and a sibirican and takes the best characteristics from both. The plant is vigorous, soil tolerant and has stunning widely flaring flowers in a glorious mix of purple and cream. It flowers at the same time as the I sibirica.
