IRIS- MISCELLANEOUS
The juno iris look rather like asmall flowering leek with yellow and white flowers between the leaves. They flower in April and like full sun such as a rock garden. .The black or mourning widow iris, iris tuberosa, has amazing green and black flowers. It has unusual tubers rather than bulbs and will spread to form large patches under trees.
The colourful Pacific coast iris are rhizomatous iris originating in the woodlands of California. They prefer an acid soil in poart shade and are excellent ground cover for rhododendrons.
Bulbous iris are planted as dormant bulbs in the autumn, 4" deep and 4" apart. They are summer dormant.
