IPHEION
Star-like flowers all spring- These are easy bulbs for a dry sunny border quickly forming large patches of narrow leaves that are covered in stary flowers all spring. They are blue, pink or white and mix well with grape hyacinth, muscari, or can be used to underplant rose bushes. They should be dead headed to stop them producing seedlings of a different colour. Their leaves smell of onions if crushed but the flowers are strongly honey scented and they make good cut flowers. The small bulbs are planted in the autumn 2" deep and 2" apart.
