GLADIOLUS - dwarf
Sword Lily. These shorter gladioli are smaller and more elegant than their large cousins. They do not require staking and are reasonably hardy in S. Britain. They like a fertile soil in full sun. they will not stand hard frost. Usually about 18" - 24" high with either large flowers or slender spikes. They have strong rich colours flowers. Flowers June to August.They are planted as dormant bulbs in the autumn or spring 4" deep and 3" apart

GLADIOLUS BYZANTINUS
"Whistling Jack" The true form of this Mediterranean species which is so often rather poor with pale flowers. This is vegatatively propagated and true to name. The large purple-red flowers with a white flash are carried on stiff stems. Hardy in the south, seeding around here. It flowers at the sme time as Allium cristophii. Plant in well drained soil in full sun. We have a small number of bulbs available.
