(Div.8) Strongly scented multiheaded variety with up to 5 heads per stem. The petals are a rich golden yellow and the short cup is a glowing orange-red. Excellent for cutting. Early flowering.  Needs a warm situation to do well

(9) Award of Garden MeritThis old favourite daffodil is included by popular request. Pure white petals and red rimmed cup — like a sophisticated, earlier Pheasant Eye type. The flowers are larger and really look you in the eye. We have hundreds naturalised in our wild garden.  Scented. Plant the bulbs in the autumn in any good garden soil in sun or part shade. they can be grown in borders or naturalised in grass.

Award of Garden Merit(Division 8) This is a  robust tazetta daffodil with up to 10 glistening white flowers with lemon yellow cups. Strongly scented , making an excellent cut flower.. Like all this group the leaves appear early in the winter. It grows best in a slightly sheltered situation where it will not be damaged by early strong winds. Plant the bulbs in the autumn in any good garden soil in sun. Summer dormant.  Huge bulbs!

(Div 2) A delightful intermediate reversed bicolor daffodil. The well shaped flowers open bright lemon and the cup gradually fades to cream. It is one of the last to flower and is long lasting in flower and very vigorous. One of my all time favourites.   A real stunner. Plant the bulbs in the autumn. Summer dormant.

(Div.8) Strongly sented multiheaded variety with up to 10 heads per stem. The flowers are pure glistening white with a tiny yellow cup. Early flowering, in a mild winter it may flower in January. Flowers best after a warm summer.

(Division 13) A spectacular jonquil species from S Spain. Masses of deep gold strongly scented flowers - up to 10 per stem, with small flat cups. Needs a dry sunny postion to flower well. It is perfect for a pot in a cold glasshouse. Plant the bulbs in autumn  in well drained soil in full sun.  Summer dormant

Award of Garden Merit(Division 1) A tiny gem of a dwarf trumpet daffodil from Alec Gray with a slightly nodding lemon trumpet and milk white petals. It does well here on the edge of a shrub bed where it is dry in the summer. Plant in the autumn. Summer dormant.

(12) An excellent little cyclamineus hybrid with two to three clear yellow flowers to the stem. Slightly orange cup and well reflexed petals. Sister seedling to Tete a Tete but the cyclamineus parentage is more pronounced and the deeper trumpet longer.

Division 6. This beautiful cyclamineus daffodil has pale lemon flowers. The long trumpet is slightly paler than the well reflexed petals. Early flowering forming good sized clumps. It always excites interest in the garden. One of the best new introduction. We are retaining the stock as it is still very scarce.

Award of Garden Merit(Division 10) This is a perfect  showy cream bulbocodium hybrid daffodil with an expanded cup and tiny petals. It is hardy but flowers early in the year and is probably better grown under glas;. require a dry summer dormancy to flower well. Noted for producing a succession of flowers and its long flowering time

NARCISSUS MARY POPPINS

NARCISSUS MEDIOLUTEUS (biflorus) (Primrose Peerless)

(Division 13) This is one of the very oldest daffodil cultivars still in cultivation. Over the centuries it has been known by a series of different names: Narcissus biflorus, Primrose Peerless, Cemetery Ladies all refer to ether its appearance or use. This late flowering narcissus has 1 or 2  small white flowers with a tiny lemon yellow cup. Sweetly scented flowers

Award of Garden Merit(Division 6) This is a perfect  tiny golden cyclamineus hybrid daffodil with long straight trumpet and ‘fly-away’ perianth. Rather like a larger more robust N.cyclamineus.  It increases rapidly making good clumps. Although it loves a moist acid soil it is just as happy on dry sandy soils. Divide regularly.

This Moroccan species is probably a small form of N.papyraceous. Masses of pure white, heavily scented flowers with neater more compact heads than Paperwhite and with a tiny perfectly ropund corona. Keep frost free. The bulbs were given to me by John Blanchard many years ago.
